Amps to Watts Calculator
Find real power from current and voltage for DC or sinusoidal AC.
Formula
DC: P = VI; 1φ: P = VI·PF; 3φ: P = √3 VI·PF.
Current: 2 A · Voltage: 12 V · Real power ≈ (12 V)×(2 A)
How to use
- Choose DC, single-phase or balanced three-phase AC.
- Enter voltage, current and AC power factor.
- Read real power in watts.
Examples
- 12 V and 2 A DC give 24 W.
Frequently asked questions
Which AC values are needed?
Use RMS voltage and current; three-phase voltage is line-to-line and current is line current.
Does DC use PF?
No. The DC result uses P = VI.
Can volts alone give watts?
No. Current and, for AC, power factor are also needed.
