Paint calculator
Calculate paint needed for the surface area you will coat.
Formula
Paint = net area × coats / coverage area × rated paint volume
Net area to paint: 400 ft² · Area covered per coat: 350 ft² · Paint volume for that coverage: 1 US gal · Paint in liters ≈ (400 ft² × 0.09290304 m²/ft²)×(2)÷(350 ft² × 0.09290304 m²/ft²)×(1 US gal × 3.785411784 L/US gal) · Paint in US gallons ≈ (8.652369792)÷3.785411784
How to use
- Enter net area after subtracting openings.
- Enter coats and the product’s area-per-volume coverage.
- Read liters and US gallons; allow for site losses.
Examples
- 35 m², two coats, 10 m² per liter requires 7 L.
