Rhombus Calculator
Calculate a rhombus area, side length and perimeter from its two full diagonal lengths.
Formula
A=d₁d₂/2; side=√(d₁²+d₂²)/2; perimeter=4×side.
First diagonal d₁: 6 cm · Second diagonal d₂: 8 cm · Area ≈ (6 cm × 0.01 m/cm)×(8 cm × 0.01 m/cm)÷2×10000 · Side length ≈ sqrt((6 cm × 0.01 m/cm)^2+(8 cm × 0.01 m/cm)^2)÷2×100 · Perimeter ≈ 4×(5)
How to use
- Enter the first full diagonal.
- Enter the second full diagonal and check both units.
- Read area in cm² and side/perimeter in cm.
Examples
- Diagonals 6 cm and 8 cm give area 24 cm², side 5 cm and perimeter 20 cm.
Frequently asked questions
Do I enter half a diagonal?
No. Enter the entire distance between opposite vertices.
Why does the side formula use a right triangle?
A rhombus has perpendicular diagonals that bisect each other.
Does it also work for a square?
Yes. A square is a rhombus with equal diagonals.
