Amps to Volts Calculator
Find DC voltage across an ohmic resistor from current and resistance.
Formula
V = IR.
Current: 2 A · Resistance: 6 Ω · Voltage drop ≈ (2 A)×(6 Ω)
How to use
- Enter DC current.
- Enter positive resistance.
- Read the voltage drop in volts.
Examples
- 2 A through 6 Ω gives 12 V.
Frequently asked questions
Can amperes alone give volts?
No. Resistance is also required.
Can I use this for AC?
Only for a purely resistive load with RMS values; it does not model complex impedance.
Does it work for a diode?
No. A diode is not a fixed ohmic resistance.
