Cosecant Calculator
Calculate csc(θ) for a signed angle in degrees. Exact multiples of 180° are rejected as undefined.
Formula
csc(θ) = 1/sin(θ); sin uses θπ/180 radians. Undefined when θ = 180k°, k integer.
Cosecant (unitless) ≈ 1÷(sin(((30)-360×round((30)÷360))×pi÷180)×min(1,ceil(abs((30)-180×round((30)÷180)))))
How to use
- Enter the angle in degrees, from −360,000° to 360,000°.
- Use a minus sign for a clockwise angle.
- Read the unitless result; multiples of 180° give an error.
Examples
- csc(30°) = 2; csc(−30°) = −2.
Frequently asked questions
Is this inverse sine?
No. Cosecant is the reciprocal of sine; arcsine is a different function.
What happens at 0° or 180°?
No finite result exists. The calculator rejects every exact multiple of 180°.
Can I enter radians?
This form accepts degrees only. Convert radians to degrees first.
